World Heli Challenge Announces a Worldwide Search for 2011 Young Gun

25 05 2011

This year for the World Heli Challenge in Wanaka, New Zealand,  the event organizers are welcoming submissions from youth around the world who think that they have what it takes to follow in the footsteps of athletes like New Zealand’s Jossi Wells, taking on the big mountain heli-accessed terrain with the best of the best.

Event founder Tony Harrington said that in the past they’ve normally hand picked the young gun, but this year they are giving the opportunity to kids around the world to send in their videos, to see if they think they have what it takes to take on the best in the world.

Check out Hank Bilious’s video. He’s a young local shredder from Hawea. If he’s not at school he’s out skiing and when he’s at school he’s probably dreaming about being on the mountain. I see Hank shredding at either Cadrona or Treble Cone with his brother Finn all the time. He is up there from 9 till 4 just enough time for a quick break and then up to Snow Park for night riding.
